Main use: playboat, river runner
Savage's take: The Maniac was created to compliment the the qualities of its big brother, the Beast, on a smaller scale. Like the Beast, the hull of the Maniac was designed to provide a stable and forgiving platform that would spin on the face of a wave like no other kayak. Finally, a reasonable play boat has arrived for lighter adults and kids alike.

joe kendall (enjoys mostly river running and rates this boat 8 /10) |
| pros: | good stability, easy to get vertical and cartwheel etc. |
| cons: | not as good to spin on a wave as they say, to higher volume for a small paddler to start playboating in |
| other: | no good colour combinations - brown, blue swirls (nice but impractical) or mulicoloured (disguisting if u ask me) anyway though a well balanced beginners boat or a medium paddlers river runner/playboat (eddyhopping etc.) |
