Perception's take: Wake up all you steep creek fans. There is a new boat in town that will open your eyes to whole new possibilities. The Java™. Developed by world-renowned paddler Clay Wright and our own in-house R&D team, this highly maneuverable boat answers your every desire when you are paddling aggressive lines. And when it comes to dropping over falls, its stability and volume provide effortless boofs and pillow-soft landings. The Java is perfect for beginning creekers on their first few runs, but those who already live the high life will find its responsiveness incomparable. So if you are looking to have a good hair day, start the morning with a little Java.

| pros: | Easily maneuvers on a dime, spins like a playboat. The first time I boofed easily over an 8 ft drop I kept waiting for the landing. I realized I already landed and I still dont recall feeling any shock upon landing. That was amazing. |
| cons: | Doesnt roll as easily as I hoped. I need a wider and more complete sweep, putting my shoulder at risk. Someone else agreed with my assessment when they tried the boat. A need of a wide sweep is not a good thing in steep narrow creeks. Java surfs well for a creeker. |
| other: | Male, 5ft 6in, 145 pounds. |

Nick Mason (enjoys mostly creeks and rates this boat 9 /10) |
| pros: | speed (for a short boat), soft landings, hole-punching, does not slide out when turning. |
| cons: | goes deep when you miss your boof, kinda 'tippy' coming from a Method Air. |
| other: | Loves low volume runs, lands soft off waterfalls. |

| pros: | excellent alround bouyancy, stable platform to coach from, well fitted out as standard, turns and responds well in big water |
| cons: | heavy boat if lots of portages, not great on flat or surf |
| other: | no comment |
